The goal of Foothills Industries is to become an affirmative industry. The affirmative industry model serves a dual Mission: (1) to become a more successful business, and (2) to employ adults with disabilities along with an equal number of employees who have no diagnosed disability, creating an integrated workplace for all employees. Succeeding first as a business will offer long-term employment opportunities for all our employees and will assure we meet our human service mission.           
               

To harness our past success and to evolve into an affirmative enterprise, two major projects have been undertaken. First, a strong manufacturing component will continue to expand, so that we can employ an integrated workforce through new job creation and retention.

Construction of our new  facility was completed and occupied in November 2005 in the county's industrial park, at the intersection of 221 South and 1-40 in McDowell County, North Carolina. Foothills Industries will be the second company locating in this certified industrial park which has all the necessary infrastructure for a modern industrial/social enterprise.
